Web Design

Founded in 2004, the Celtic and Irish Cultural Society organised a number of events for the Irish and wider community throughout West Sussex as well as funding Irish language classes, workshops and more. The work of the Society had earlier commenced in 1995 with the inaugural Crawley Irish Festival.

The website included articles, news, photos and videos from previous events as well as links to other events of interest. Events included the Crawley Irish Festival, Crawley Fleadh and Saint Patrick’s Parade, as well as other promotions throughout the year.

The 2008 website was based on WordPress and updated a previous static HTML website. The new site was was designed so that even novice computer users could update content that was relevant to their visitors and readership. This included articles, news, and other journalistic-type content.

Because of the flexibility of the WordPress platform, its design has changed a number of times since the site was first created. All the times, maintaining the existing content.

Other work completed included:

  • Publicity, Press and Communications
  • Event Planning and Event Management
  • Funding and Grant Application Processes
  • Graphic Design
    • Artwork
    • Banners and Backdrops
    • Programmes

The Society ceased operations in 2022 following three consecutive years of cancelled events, resulting from the COVID-19 related pandemic with remaining funds distributed to other charities and groups.
